Schools

Local schools use our facilities as part of their school programme.  There are many educational opportunities in the area, these fit very well into the National School curriculum.

Sutton Hoo The recently opened project to document Anglo Saxon Britain is only about 35 minutes from Sizewell and is a fascinating place for all ages.

Sutton Hoo is very well known for the recent discovery of the Burial siteThere is now a brand new purpose built building to house all the fascinating discoveries of a lost generation.

There are historic sites to visit in the area, Leiston Long Shop Museum & The Abbey ruins are both within a very short distance of the Hall.

Dunwich Heath is a another site well worth a visit with an Education Centre.  It is well equipped to cater for school trips.

Leiston Long Shop Museum is an excellent resource for Key Stage 2 & 3 and their new Website contains on-line resources and activities for Key Stage 2/3 History/Geography and information about visiting the Museum for all ages.
Hello, I'm Julia Mael,
the Education Officer at the Long Shop Museum.

It is well worth a visit whatever your age.
